Gandhi Jayanti Significance & History




Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated in India as India’s 3 official national holidays, after Independence Day and Republic Day to indicate the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi who was born on 2nd October 1869 and died on 30th January 1948.
In India, Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated every year on 2nd October by the Indian Citizens in the remembrance of his contributions towards the Indian freedom struggle. Mahatma Gandhi was a spiritual and political leader of India and he played a most important role in the Indian Independence movement.
